The Federal Republic of Germany is situated both in central Europe and western Europe. It is the most populous member state of the European Union. Germany consists of 16 states, and its capital and largest city is Berlin. Other major cities include Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, and Frankfurt.

Berlin is the capital city of Germany. It is located in the northeastern part of the country and has a population of approximately 3.7 million.
